Who am I?

Moe Toghraei

I’m Moe Toghraei — an engineer, educator, and published author with over 30 years of experience in the chemical, oil & gas, and water & wastewater industries. Over the course of my career, I’ve led large-scale EPC projects, optimized complex industrial processes, and contributed to some of the most critical infrastructure developments across Canada and internationally.

Beyond engineering practice, I’ve built a strong parallel career as an educator and trainer. I’ve delivered specialized technical courses at institutions such as NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology), the University of Kentucky, and Dalhousie University, along with delivering in-house training for engineering teams in both private and public sectors. My teaching style emphasizes clarity, real-world application, and deep understanding — empowering professionals to think beyond procedures and grasp the “why” behind the “what.”

I am also the author of three widely respected books:

Piping and Instrumentation Diagram Development

A Practical Approach to Chemical Engineering for Non-Chemical Engineers

Rules of Thumb for Water and Wastewater Engineers

These titles are published by Wiley and Elsevier, and are available on Amazon, serving as reference tools for both practicing engineers and technical managers worldwide.

At Engistemic.com, I go beyond data dumps and bullet-point slides. I provide epistemologically structured knowledge — information that is not only organized, but distilled and connected to real engineering practice. This is training designed to change how you think, not just what you know.
